Media Action Grassroots Network

Piloted in 2004 by local media activist groups the Youth Media Council, Media Alliance, Reclaim the Media, and Media Tank, with support from the Media Democracy Fund—the Media Action Grassroots Network (MAG-Net) became a project of the Center for Media Justice (formerly the Youth Media Council) in 2008. MAG-Net has since emerged as a powerful movement network, winning local and national fights to reduce predatory prison phone rates, protect the open Internet, increase corporate media accountability, and preserve digital rights.

MAG-Net is the largest multi-issue action network for communication rights, access and representation in the United States. With a voting membership of leading media justice organizations, 175+ affiliate members across the United States, a national learning community, and network infrastructure for communications and campaign collaboration— MAG-Net is advancing an exciting new vision for media and justice.
